We're holding an Officially Recognised Glasgow Anime Skype Meet on this upcoming week of the next month that happens this year in March the 14th of next this month. It's been going for long enough now that I think I can feel slightly less embarassed about posting a gratuitous plug for the anime/manga podcast I'm co-hosting on.

I had avoided mentioning it thus far as I wasn't sure if we'd covered anything that would be of much interest, but we did Berserk in the last episode and we've done Pluto in the most recent one.

Review:
Katanagatari is set during the Edo Period which follows Togame in her search for 12 Katana created by a legendary blacksmith, She enlists the help of Shichika to help her find the Katana.
The episodes of Katanagatari are split between the four seasons (Winter/Spring/Summer/Autumn) and were aired in the same season the episode is set. This was a really cool idea which I thought deserved a mention as very few anime do something so unique.
Each character in the show is given enough time to find out their personality and what drives them. In relation to the characters, each Katana tends to match their personality and be pretty unique in their own rights. This is by no means a Samurai anime.
The anime is very well-paced and will very rarely leave you bored (if at all), though it can be pretty wordy.
While the anime doesn't particularly focus on the battles, the battles are entertaining and due to the 12 katana being unique, each battle takes a different pace.
As a whole, this anime is excellent and should be considered a Core* Anime by everyone.

*An Anime the majority of fans should see.

I'm not entirely sure what to say here, haha ^^;
